People in Wine: Champagne
Posted on | October 24, 2005
We’ve just released our third programme ” you can stream it from our main site or listen through a podcatcher like iTunes, iPodderx etc.
A two-part programme, the second will focus on New World sparkling wines. In the first programme we have an interview with Rèmi Krug and ask him what is so special about Krug Champagne? We discuss with him some of the wine-making techniques that go into creating a world-class Champagne: the use of reserve wines; the making of the Grande Cuvèe; malo-lactic fermentation; and the ‘terroir’ of Champagne.
We also talk to Michel Bettane and Richard Juhlin about disgorgement and how it affects the wine and the best time to drink Champagne.
